Wordlist

A list of words that I didn't know, the first time I came across them and upon looking up the definition, developed a liking towards them.

• Selbstüberwindung (self-overcoming)

• Quixotic - extremely idealistic; unrealistic and impractical.
• Panglossian - characterised by or given to extreme optimism, especially in the face of unrelieved hardship or adversity.
• Pedagogic - relating to teaching
• Primum non nocere - first, do no harm
• Laconic - (of a person, speech, or style of writing) using very few words.
• Obsequious - obedient or attentive to an excessive or servile degree.
• Anachronism - a thing belonging or appropriate to a period other than that in which it exists, especially a thing that is conspicuously old-fashioned.
• Autodidact - a self-taught person
• Comeuppance - a punishment or fate that someone deserves.
• Autoschediasm - something that is improvised or extemporised.
